Born, raised, and educated in Jackson, TN. Married for thirty-one years and have two sons and one daughter. Served a combined total of thirteen years in the U.S. army reserve and National Guard. Joined the Jackson Police Department in 1980. Progressed through the ranks until retiring as Captain in 2015. While with JPD, served in patrol, traffic, DUI, and administration. Additional responsibility as crash and critical incident commander. After retiring from JPD, worked as Deputy Chief for Madison county Sheriffs Office until 2016, before taking full retirement from law enforcement. Some hobbies include bee keeping, wood working, and knife making.
